Orchids Online is a site devoted to many things of great interest to orchid growers and enthusiasts from around the world.

Areas like the Orchid image galleries and the new Orchids A-Z would be two good places to look at first if you are new to the website. You can also visit the recent posts area for a complete list of the latest topics being added or discussed here on Orchids Online. Once in the recent comments area if you are logged in you will see a link to 'My recent posts'. Visit this area to keep up with your latest submissions.

We are a friendly community here who enjoy our orchids and the opportunity to share our photos and knowledge with others online. There are now well over 600 registered users on the site, many also being active contributors to the site.

With the rapid recovery of the site (there are now well over 2500 pages now up!) we have decided to add some extra search funcionality.

As well as the standard site search (located in the very top right hand corner of every page) we have now added Google Search functionality from within the pages of this website. Why not try it now!

The site admins are still busy restoring all the photos submitted to the site prior to the disaster which saw the site down for such a long time. If you search here or here you may find some of your old photos (please don't forget to add a comment to claim your photo!).

Originally included on this community site there were thousands of orchid photo and information pages , a free to use Orchid Auction, Orchid Society lists, Orchid Nursery lists, Orchid specific RSS Feeds, and the opportunity to post your own forum discussion item, orchid blog or photos to an online community that was growing rapidly and without doubt becoming the number one orchid blog site!

Given time (and a lot of hard work by the site admins), many of the above features will return bigger and better than ever! Already we have reinstated all old user accounts to the site so try logging in using your old account information now. If you are having trouble, click the request a new password link and enter your username or email address and the system will send you a new password if the user account exists. Please note: If we have missed your account for some reason we are very sorry. You can always simply reuse your old username to create a new account.

Work has also commenced in earnest on reinstating the thousands of orchid photo and information pages. Have a look at the Orchids A-Z and follow the links to see what has already been added.

With such a huge task ahead of us, we ask that you please be patient and revisit often if you would like to watch it's progress.

Our hope is to see the continuation in rapid growth of this community of friendly orchid enthusiasts who are busy building their own online orchid resource through the contribution of their blogs and images.

This interactive website has given both contributors and visitors access to powerful tools to aid them in the enjoyment of orchids online. Contributors will find these tools will help them to submit their own blogs, photos and various information and comments they may wish to add to the site from time to time. Visitors may simply enjoy the benefits of the work of these contributors although we certainly hope that over time you will be inspired to contribute as well!
